ADCAM (Asociación de Desarrollo, Comercio Alternativo y Microcrédito) is a non-profit international organization, established in Spain in 2005 and in the USA in 2013 under the name Development Alternative Trade and Microcredit Association Inc. (TAX ID: 46-2854742-). ADCAM’s purpose in both Spain, and the United States, is to develop cooperation projects and social responsibility initiatives that assist the most disadvantaged population.
Our goals are met through the efficient and effective management of projects, the establishment of mutually beneficial agreements with private initiatives, and the promotion of media events on all platforms. Through our initiatives, we aim to promote cooperation, trade, and the acceptance of alternative microcredit in the world.
Our primary objectives are:
- To provide education and comprehensive support
- To increase the empowerment of women and communities through microcredit
- Marketing with the “D” of development
- To raise awareness
- To increase sustainability and help protect the environment
Our projects use education as the fundamental starting point, for we begin working directly root level, difficulties of disadvantaged populations, when to develop and evolve according to their own beliefs.
ADCAM is continually working in the field of women and microcredit through our support of productive cooperatives in developing countries. Here, we train women in a specific trade in order to open marketing channels with northern countries to continue to ensure the sustainability of our projects.
Furthermore, ADCAM takes part in the UN Global Compact, the world’s largest corporate sustainability initiative with over 12,000 signing entities in over 170 countries.
This initiative is a call to companies to align strategies and operations with universal principles on human rights, labor, the environment, and anti-corruption.
Corporations are also called on to take actions that advance positive societal goals.
